Which airlines fly to Guatemala and from where?

Guatemala is in no way a mass-market destination, one of the many reasons it is such a compelling holiday destination, and this is reflected in the relative lack of flights.

It is also worth noting that, apart from a tiny airport in Flores, the only real airport in Guatemala of any note – La Aurora – is located in its capital, Guatemala City. The gorgeous, must-visit colonial town of Antigua is only around 45 minutes’ drive away so many visitors skip the capital altogether.

There are just 2 airports in Guatemala – La Aurora in Guatemala City and Flores in Peten province – and therefore just the single route.

Flights between Guatemala City and Flores tend to operate 3 or 4 times a day with a choice of flying either Avianca or Guatemala’s national airline, TAG. We tend to recommend and use TAG as they have more flights and therefore more flexibility.

In both directions, flights tend to operate in the early morning and then again in the late afternoon / early evening. Flying time is approximately 1 hour.
